About the event
This service commemorates St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment. St. Francis believed that all of God's creation, from the smallest insect to the largest animal, holds a special place in the world and deserves our respect and care.
The purpose of the pet blessing is to celebrate the profound bond between humans and their animal companions. During the service, each animal is individually blessed, acknowledging their unique place as a beloved member of our families and God's creation. Stuffed animals are always welcome, as well as photographs of pets who might not find attending a blessed experience.
By gathering to honor our pets, we renew our commitment to caring for all of God's creation, both human and animal. It's a joyful and meaningful way to celebrate our faith and the abundant life we share with our animal friends. Free photos of animal friends will be provided by Fritz Frameables!
