About Us
Emmanuel Harrah is a mission church campus supported by Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Shawnee. We began holding weekly services at the Black Raven Pub in Harrah on Easter of 2023.
We now meet each Sunday at 10:30am at 18735 NE 23rd St. in Harrah for a Rite II Eucharist service. We also have regular fellowship opportunities throughout the month, including Pub Theology at the Black Raven once a month on a selected Thursday at 6pm!
Find us on Facebook to keep up with the happenings of our congregation!

Leadership
What do we believe?
As Episcopalians, we are followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and we believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe every human is made in God’s image. Therefore, we strive to love our neighbors as ourselves respecting the dignity of every person.
The Episcopal Church is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, and traces its heritage to the beginnings of Christianity and in the two foundational statements of faith—the Apostles’ Creed used at baptism, and the Nicene Creed used at communion—we join Christians throughout the ages in affirming our faith in the one God who created us, redeemed us, and sanctifies us.
Our unity is not found in uniform interpretation of doctrine,
but in the shared practices of the Christian faith.
We have common prayer, not common belief.
Both men and women, whether married or single, are eligible for ordination as deacons, priests and bishops in the Episcopal Church. We believe in amendment of life, the forgiveness of sin, and life everlasting. Lay people exercise a vital role in the governance and ministry of our church. We uphold the Bible as the Word of God, “and to contain all things necessary to salvation.”
We affirm that marriage is a lifelong and monogamous covenant. Episcopalians also recognize that there is grace after divorce and do not deny sacraments to those who have been divorced. We understand the church’s teaching about marriage to apply to all couples, without regard to sexual orientation or gender identity. We affirm that issues such as birth control are matters of personal informed conscience.
We celebrate our unity in Christ while honoring our differences, always putting the work of love before the uniformity of opinion. All are welcome to find a spiritual home in the Episcopal Church.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this church connected to Emmanuel Shawnee?
Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Shawnee, Oklahoma started the Harrah mission church on Easter 2023 as an act of faith, and the activities and congregation have continually grown ever since. Emmanuel Shawnee shares its resources and clergy to run the Harrah mission, in hopes that someday the Harrah congregation will be strong enough to become its own independent congregation.
What’s an Episcopal Church service like?
The Episcopal Church worships in the “liturgical style,” which means all Episcopal churches follow a relatively common order of service. Being with a community of believers inspires us, nurtures us, encourages us, and comforts us. Scripture and the Eucharist (Holy Communion) are the foundations of our worship. The service follows an order found on a service leaflet that is distributed every Sunday to help you follow along. Our Sunday services throughout the year usually include an opening procession, singing, Bible readings, prayers for ourselves and others, time for meditation, a sermon, and Communion (Holy Eucharist) where we share bread and wine in remembrance of Jesus Christ and the Last Supper.
Am I allowed to come forward for Communion if I'm not a member of the church or an Episcopalian?
Yes. All people are welcome to approach the front of the church during the Communion portion of the service, even if you’re not an Episcopalian. Anyone who has been baptized (in any tradition) is invited to share in the bread and wine. Unbaptized persons are welcome to come forward for a special blessing and are encouraged to speak to the priest about the possibility of baptism
